I started programming computers back in the late 80’s writing simple games on the ZX Spectrum, 48K, moving onto the Amiga 1200 later and then onto my first 486PC by 1994 running MSDS 6.2 and Windows 3.11. Determined at the time not to follow the family trade, I had decided to keep this a hobby and study biological sciences before later on returning to study computers and start a career, in the family trade.
Since then I have worked on a variety of projects professionally, firstly focusing on Windows Desktop, using a mixture of C++, Adobe Director and Adobe Flash (formerly Macromedia) and later moving into the web in C# and of course HTML 5, mostly hosting in an IIS environment, along the way spending far too much time using Flexera Installshield and MSI files in general. In more recent times a shift in career has led to this moving dramatically towards NodeJS, VueJS and Cloud Development in Azure using microservices
The main purpose of this blog is to serve as educational to novices. To highlight issues that I have cones/will come across in the software world and to throw out what I hope are thought provoking concepts etc.
The name of this blog is chosen in memory of my father
